We meet to celebrate the coming of Christ into the world. the word was made flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld his glory.
The grace of God has dawned upon the world through our Saviour Jesus Christ. So come, let us return to the Lord and confess our sins. Almighty God, our heavenly Father, we have sinned against you and against our neighbour in thought and word and deed, through negligence, through weakness, through our own deliberate fault. We are truly sorry and repent of all our sins. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, who died for us, forgive us all that is past and grant that we may serve you in newness of life to the glory of your name. Amen. The almighty and merciful Lord grant you pardon and forgiveness from all your sins, time for amendment of life, and the grace and strength of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
God of all mercy, your Son proclaimed good news to the poor, release to the captives, and freedom to the oppressed: anoint us with your Holy Spirit and set all your people free to praise you in Christ our Lord. Amen.
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.
Christ the Son of God perfect in us the image of his glory and gladden our hearts with the good news of his kingdom; and the blessing of God almighty, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, be among us and remain with us always. Amen. Let us bless the Lord. Thanks be to God. Amen.
